Tacoma Water has a proud tradition of operating and maintaining one of the country’s oldest municipally owned water systems. We provide high-quality water at very competitive prices. We provide direct service to more than 300,000 people throughout Pierce and King counties.
The City of Spokane's Water Department delivers up to 180 million gallons of clean, safe drinking water every day to more than 200,000 people in our community. The City's water system is the third largest in the state of Washington, behind Seattle and Tacoma.
Cascade expects to take water from Tacoma starting in 2041 to replace the declining Seattle supply. A new contract with Tacoma would allow Cascade to defer developing the Lake Tapps Reservoir until at least the 2060s.
