1 lip 2012 · The two-year rebuild of Tacoma Power’s salmon hatchery was designed so that the utility could produce fish in a smarter, more efficient way. The new hatchery contributes about 8 million fish a year to the Cowlitz River in Washington.
Tacoma Power customers pay a little more than 4 cents per kilowatt of electricity, one of the lowest electric rates in the nation. By comparison, Puget Sound Energy charges more than 6 cents a kilowatt-hour, and some East Coast utility customers pay as much as 12 to 15 cents.
