What degree of doneness should you be looking for when cooking steak? Here’s our internal cooking temperature guide for rare, medium rare and well done beef.
As a general guideline, a 1-inch thick T-bone steak will take around 12-14 minutes to cook to medium-rare (internal temperature of 135°F) on a preheated grill at medium-high heat. For a medium steak, it may take around 14-16 minutes, and for well-done, around 18-20 minutes.
