You can set up your Synology NAS to be a print server, allowing client computers or mobile devices to access printers connected to Synology NAS. You can also print remotely using iOS devices via Apple Wireless Printing (AirPrint). For a list of compatible printers, visit Synology website.
With Synology Assistant, you can share printers, set up Wake on LAN (WOL), and configure network drives. To download and install Synology Assistant on your computer, go to Download Center and select your Synology NAS model. Next, go to the Desktop Utilities tab to find Synology Assistant.
8 wrz 2014 · When I try adding the printer I get an error on my laptop saying it can't connect. I'm guessing I may be using the incorrect IP address. I am using the IPv4 address printed on the device config page that I can can print from the printer.
18 maj 2022 · Printer sharing must be enabled in DSM first so everyone within the network can find the USB printer on their computer. To enable printer sharing in DSM: Go to Control Panel > External Devices > Printer. Select your printer and then click Printer Manager > Set Up Printer.
30 lip 2015 · The solution. In OS X, remove the printer and add a new one, according to the official documentation. Only, instead of using usbprinter, as it says there, use usbprinter2. In Windows, I set up the printer manually (not using the Synology Assistant as described here).
20 gru 2021 · Shared USB printer not working with Windows. I have a USB printer connected to my DS218+ which works great and flawlessly with my MacOS devices and my iPhone, but no matter what I try, it will not print things sent from my Windows 11 machine.
