In 1993, the Kennedy Center invited Suzanne Farrell to lead a series of ballet master classes for students from the metropolitan Washington region. In 1995, this master class series transitioned into a three week summer intensive program attracting students from across the United States.
The Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell file includes a multitude of letters and notes from former students given to her at the conclusion of each summer intensive course. We host a two-week summer intensive in June each year. During our two weeks, Ballet Arts hires professional dancers and instructors from around the world. Dancers will be trained in many dance forms with an emphasis on ballet technique.
