28 kwi 2022 · A furnace condensate pump that keeps running and won’t shut off is the second most common homeowners’ experience. It’s also a problem that can be caused by multiple parts inside a condensate pump including the check valve, float, and lines.
It is a pump to remove water that is produced by condensation from an air conditioner or efficient furnace. It shouldn't run continuously. There's a small tank inside that collects the water.
If your pump is running often and is too loud, I recommend this pump. It has a variable speed pump which starts slow and ramps up if necessary and is much, much quieter. The water basin is also fairly large so it can hold a bit before needing to empty.
3 maj 2024 · If your condensate pump is running continuously, then you may either have problem with the discharge line, the check valve, or the pump itself. It may be a defective part, or it may be a clog.
The condensate pump we have attached to the boiler is making a very loud grinding noise, sometimes vibrating, sometimes a bit like if it was 'choking' - and it's turning on constantly, maybe for 3 minutes every 10 minutes, even with the boiler off (through the night).
