They are VERY disposable. The red battery compartment never screws tightly into the gray housing leading to bad electrical contact. Sometimes the housing cracks or even comes out of the box cracked or made just a little too big so it’s always loose. The pumps work for a couple months then just die.

If there are no issues with the sealing water, then they should perform maintenance on the stuffing box.
12 cze 2019 · The problem is that very few wrenches fit into the narrow space in the keel where the stuffing box is located. The drip rate went down and bilge pump did not kick in more than once during the night. I’m tempted to leave it alone until I haul out later this summer.
