PURPOSE. To establish a standard, well-coordinated and integrated approach to the recognition and treatment of any patient exhibiting signs and symptoms of acute stroke less than 8 hours in duration or arriving within 8 hours of waking up with stroke-like symptoms.
For ischemic stroke or TIA with persistent symptom onset of greater than 12 hours, but less than 24 hours, have the ECC (Emergency Communication Center) contact the Stroke Team (pager 12600).
11 mar 2021 · Based on a review of several international stroke guidelines, best practices for the updated management of acute ischemic stroke, including appropriate screening, monitoring, and treatment according to stroke-specific order sets or pathways developed within a hospital, are presented.
Regional systems of early stroke care should be developed that coordinate first-contact services with local and regional hospitals to achieve minimum delay time from symptom onset to definitive treatment.
