If you don't use Endurance Charges, Steelskin 20 is the most extra effective life until a base life pool of around 7,000, after that Immortal Call takes over. Molten Shell, even at capped Armor (10,000) doesn't beat Steelskin or Immortal Call for protection (the retaliation damage is another story).
No, you don't want to run steelskin on cwdt. Steelskin needs high level preferably 20 or 21 to be good, unlike molten shell which is great even at level 1, since it scales flatly, each level is quite a bit stronger than before. Either left click and forget it, or use it manually with steelskin.
Immortal call is strong vs phys on lower level, and good with endurance charges. Some setups want to trigger cwdt on low level to trigger skills like tempest shield in the same link. So if you can use steel skin at higher level and are not using endurance charges it will be better. 1. Reply.
