When I was told I was going to sing Purple Rain I researched the meaning and learned that Prince said that it meant ”God’s love raining down on you” When I learned this I decided to sing it from this viewpoint and it became sort of a gospel song. I sang it with hopes to inspire and lift the spirit of the listener.
