3 sty 2017 · I've built about 30 rods and my favorite epoxy to work is ThreadMaster Lite. For thread, I've used most of them and really like Fuji Ultra Poly and ProWrap nylon, silk isn't that hard to work with and comes in finer diameters but I don't see how that would be of much benefit on a spey rod.

19 mar 2023 · Spey Rod Guide Spacing. After a nearly 30-year hobby building dozens (maybe hundreds) of fly rods, I'm finally building my first Spey Rod. My blank is from North Fork Composites, designated LMX FASY 1267-4 (fast); translating to 12'6" 4-piece, 7 wt, fast action rod.
These longer rods do allow an easy presentation of a multitude of lines, including floating and sinking multi-tip, interchangeable line systems. Rods capable of Spey presentation using 13 to 15 weight line systems are generally found in these rod lengths.
