31 sty 2021 · My design is based on this Gardena coupling and on a 0.5 or 1.5 litre PET mineral water bottle. The launcher is "universal" and can be used with different sized soda bottles. The idea is the the air pressure pushes out water in the rocket so providing upward thrust.
The kids had a lot of fun attaching craft foam fins onto the bottles with duct tape and hot glue. The launchers themselves only take about 20 minutes to put together, so it's a quick and easy project that offers a ton of entertainment.
Connect bottle to the launch kit (This can take some practice because it takes some leverage to get the rubber stopper into the mouth of the bottle). After the bottle is secured to the launch kit, pressurize the bottle.
