Social Anthropology The term used to describe a style of anthropology linked more with British than north American scholarship. This style often emphasises the need to focus on the shared social organisation that enables a group of people to co-operate and maintain order.
These distinctions include a tradition of participant observation, and an in-depth empirical study of social groups. Topics of anthropological inquiry include social change, kinship, symbolism, exchange, belief systems, ethnicity and power relations.
