I understand that the test looks for a y chromosome in the fetal DNA of the mother's blood. If it doesn't detect a y chromosome, then you're told you're having a girl and that's pretty reliable, definitive results.
14 maj 2021 · We got a girl result and also hoping it’s wrong. I took it at about 9.5 weeks so I feel pretty confident in the result unfortunately. Our little gender reveal video (just the two of us) is hysterical.
I did the Sneak Peek at 6 weeks exactly and my girl result was accurate (confirmed by NIPT). My OB said she's never encountered Sneak Peek being wrong. My genetic counselor said she hears about it being wrong all the time.
