We prepared by walking 5 miles 3/week before the trip and were in much better shape than was required. There are opportunities to skip activities as well as some free time to explore on your own. Go to the Luxor temple (which is not included, but is a 15 LE cab ride from the Sheraton + admission to the site) at sundown.
