Painless soft tissue masses on the scalp are commonly encountered in clinical practice. The most likely diagnoses still remain as epidermoid cysts, sebaceous cysts and benign lipomas. However, clinicians should be cognisant of other possible, though uncommon, pathologies as differential diagnoses.
