Slot cars support multiple pinion and crown sizes. Manufacturers supply cars with a gearing that can work reasonably on most tracks. Performance can be significantly improved by setting gearing to be optimal for the track upon which you are competing. Crown ÷ pinion gives you a basic ratio.
19mm spur gears must use 5.5mm pinions with motor mounts SICH19/25/40/44 and 6.5mm pinions with other motor mounts (eg. SICH03). Offset motor mounts are SICH62/63/64/68/69.
