With an XLR connector, pin 1 is the ground (shield from mic cable), pin 2 is the positive (red wire), and pin 3 would get the black wire from the cable that comes on the Shure 520D. NOTE: Pin 1 and pin 3 should have a metal clip on the pin side that shorts pin’s 1 and 3.
VOLUME CONTROL KNOB. LOW IMPEDANCE. To connect the 520DX to a low impedance device, such as a mixer, use a low-to-high impedance-matching line transformer, such as the Shure model A95U.
