22 maj 2009 · The key is at. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\HideIcons. Set it to 1 to hide the icons, 0 to display them. You will have to log off and back on to see the changes.
31 mar 2010 · Windows 7's "Show Desktop" button (the little rectangle on the lower right corner of screen) is easier for me to use whereas XP's is located somewhere at the right side of Start button. Is it possible to create a "Show Desktop" rectangle for XP similar to the one on Windows 7?

4 lip 2013 · I've verified that the Show Desktop Icons option is set (although when the icons aren't showing up, I can't bring up the right-click menu at all from the desktop), so it's not that, but I can't figure out what could be causing this odd behavior.
