Oil line routing on 66 FLH. Hi guys, I am putting my 66 back together and ran into my first problem. I need a picture showing how the oil lines hook up on a flatside shovel. The picture in the shovelhead forum tech page shows the newer style oil pump and I need a pic showing the old style pump.
5 mar 2006 · The oil lines on a Shovel are straight forward. There are two oil line fittings atop the oil pump cover on late model Shovel engines. The outside fitting is the feed oil line from the oil tank to the engine, the inside oil line is the return oil from the engine to the tank.
21 paź 2010 · Route the breather lines to oiltank and make a separate breather for oiltank. That way oil gets back to tank and not on the ground, and breathing still works as it should. Of course it's a good idea to also fix the ball valve, as suggested.
There are two fittings on the actual oil pump. They are on the top of the oil pump cover. The inboard one (closest to the engine) is the oil RETURN back to the tank.
