13 cze 2022 · Shimano’s Deore is one of the best mountain bike brakes on the market and arguably the pick of the Japanese giant’s range. When you buy the Shimano Deore BL-M6100, you’ll find a forged caliper and lever in the box, but they’ll be separate, so you’ll have to put them together yourself.
21 mar 2008 · My personal favorite are Paul Love Levers. All that being said, the best bang for the buck: find some plain old Shimano Deore v's (15-20$) and a lever of your choice. With a pad upgrade that setup is 99% of the performance at a fraction of the price of slightly lighter/more snazzy looking options.

19 cze 2014 · Shimano’s latest generation of Deore brakes lack outright sex appeal, but more than make up for it in reliability, power and consistency. Oh, and you can probably buy a set without having to sell a pint of your blood; that’s always a plus.
3 cze 2024 · Regarding the enduro test, I suspect the main difference is the rotors. They don't explicitly call it out, but I think they are using series-matched rotors (the individual reviews seem to show that and they probably aren't using 2mm rotors on brakes that specify 1.8mm). The rotor temperature varies pretty drastically which supports that as well.
High end linear pull brakes certainly do exist. Shimano xt and xtr brakes were great (but the only way to get them now is used). Magura makes the HS33 which is a hydrolic rim brake. BOX components also makes some really nice brakes, and the Promax p1 Click is also pretty nice.
