Posts: 1. i have a 1.19.4 server that i host from my pc. when i try to use the server on my laptop, when running server.jar i get "a java exception has occured" popup, despite having the same java version on both pcs, java 8, and it works on my desktop, how do i fix this ?
Uninstall any version of Java that's currently installed then restart your computer. Download and install a fresh copy of Java 17, then try running your server again.

12 mar 2023 · If you already have CraftBukkit successfully installed, installing Spigot is usually as simple as replacing your server JAR with the new one. Also, to avoid malicious or old Spigot that opens a large vulnerability for a Minecraft server, you should NOT download any Spigot jar files found on Internet.
You can download it here https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/#jdk20-windows If you're worried about having two different Java installations, then you can uninstall Java Version 8 and everything will work the same.
8 lip 2022 · I installed forge directly but it showed "Downloading minecraft server failed, invalid checksum. Try again, or manually place server jar to skip download". So I downloaded server.jar manually and tried it again, then it said "Failed to download version manifest, can not find server jar URL.".
14 lip 2023 · Find and delete the old “server.jar” file from the old “Minecraft Server” folder. Go to official Minecraft Servers webpage and download a new “server.jar” file. Copy and paste the new “server.jar” into the old “Minecraft Server” folder. Doble-click the “Start Server” batch file to update the server.
