Calculator and clinical decision support for the AAP 2022 guidelines for the management of hyperbilirubinemia in newborns 35 or more weeks of gestation.
Neonatal jaundice. Treatment threshold graphs. NICE clinical guideline 98. Developed by the National Collaborating Centre for Women’s and Children’s Health. These treatment threshold graphs accompany the clinical guideline: ‘Neonatal jaundice’. They are also available as an implementation tool.
Recognize jaundice as a sign of hyperbilirubinemia and identify risk factors for neonatal jaundice. Explain bilirubin metabolism. Define hyperbilirubinemia and differentiate between the types of hyperbilirubinemia in newborns and young infants. Explain the broad differential diagnoses of neonatal jaundice.
12 cze 2023 · Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia is the most commonly encountered clinical issue in newborn babies. A number of risk factors contribute to severe hyperbilirubinemia in newborn infants with gestational age ≥ 35 weeks.
Neonatal jaundice is one of the most common clinical signs in newborn infants. Jaundice present as yellow discolouration of the skin and sclera in infants, indicating a raised serum bilirubin level leading to accumulation of bilirubin in the tissues, including the skin and mucous membranes.
