Just buy the extended warranty through hf and you'll be good. Mines on the south side of my house and one side is against the house. I think that helps keep it from blowing away.
I have the canopy. I used it at a seasonal camp and left it up from spring to fall. In the fall I removed the tarp and left the frame up and put the tarp back on the following spring. It held up fine during a couple years of this. I tied the corners and sides down to a few semi-permanent stakes and trees to keep it from lifting up in a high wind.
