SCRs have voltage ratings of up to 2500 V and current ratings of up to 3000 A. SCRs are used in power switching, phase control, battery charger, and inverter circuits. In industrial applications, they are applied to produce variable DC voltages for motors (from a few to several thousand horsepowers) from AC line voltage.
20 mar 2021 · SCR triggering by Complex Circuits. SCRs may also be triggered, or “fired,” by more complex circuits. While the circuit previously shown is sufficient for a simple application like a lamp control, large industrial motor controls often rely on more sophisticated triggering methods.
Basic operation and practical application circuits for SCRs. An SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) is a controllable medium- to high-power self-latching solid-state DC power switch. This article explains its basic operation and shows some practical ways of using it.
25 mar 2016 · Classical topologies for power control using SCR. The thyristor device works as a silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) so it can only conduct current to one direction (see AN4607), while triac can be considered as two back-to-back SCRs and can conduct a power current to both directions.
