SAS and Portal Overview In this topic, you will identify the six elements of a Standards Aligned System and their intent. You will also investigate how the elements of a Standards Aligned System can improve student achievement.
As you navigate around the SAS Home Page, you’ll notice several different features related to the Standards Aligned System. The SAS Portal Home Page. SAS Logo: The SAS logo, located in the upper-left hand corner of the page, will take you to the Home Page.
This module focuses on the Pennsylvania Standards Aligned System’s (SAS) intent, conceptual framework and includes an overview of the homepage, the six elements, and how to navigate the SAS portal.
This resource is designed to inform educators of recent additions and changes to educator professional development, relative to amendments to Chapter 49 and Act 55 of 2022.
All of the courses in the SAS PD center are self-paced. Self-paced courses are designed for independent study, allowing you to work on your own. As such, no formal meetings with your instructor are required in order for you to successfully complete your course and receive Act 48 credit.
In this 5-hour module, participants will explore various components of PDE’s Standards Aligned System (SAS), how to utilize newer resources added to the SAS Portal, and how to effectively integrate these resources into their classroom to promote student achievement.
