Sallie Mae sent me a text message saying I enrolled in texts, however, I do not have any private student loans. I verified it was a phone number actually associated with Sallie Mae. So, I went to their website and found a phone number from there to call them.

I called Sallie Mae directly using their official phone number, and they said the 866 number I had been receiving calls from wasn't a number they used. I got passed around from the customer service people to the security people, but they really couldn't figure out what was going on.
