After windows update [2024-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64 (KB5035845)] I was not able to log into Rust servers because EAC authentication errors. It took me some time to figure it was caused by this specific windows update so this might help some of you to save some time.....
23 sie 2024 · How do I launch Rust with EAC disabled? If you are unsure on where your Rust directory is then you can locate it via the Steam library. RustClient.exe is the Rust game application without the EAC wrapper.
I just got a new rig, Ryzen 9 7900X, Nvidia RTX 4070, Windows 10 22H2. Trying to boot Rust just gives me "EAC isn't installed, error code 30005". This is also happening with 7 Days To Die which also uses EAC.
23 sie 2024 · Typically means your local Easy Anti-Cheat files did not update correctly or have become corrupt. Locate the "EasyAntiCheat" folder and delete it completely. Then verify your game files. From the Library section, right-click on Rust and select Properties from the menu. Select the Local Files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache button.

Update: the problem has been solved. It was Sentinel One. Once it was removed and I went back to Windows Defender everything worked perfectly.
