The target vision of Polish road safety policy and long-term programs and strategies are to completely eliminate fatalities and serious injuries, which is in line with the far-reaching perspective of European transport policy adopted as part of the Vision Zero implementation by 2050.
The Portal provides the interactive map of road accidents together with accident and statistical data. The Map is equipped with filtering mechanism enabling to obtain selected data on road accidents through Poland since 2010, as well as basic indicators needed for road safety analysis.
In 2020 a total of 2,491 people were killed in reported traffic accidents in Poland. Poland is 4th out of 27 EU countries in terms of the highest numbers of fatalities per million inhabitants. Over the past twenty years this rate has decreased, although not enough to close the gap with the EU average.

In 2020, 2 491 people were killed in road crashes in Poland, a decrease of 14.4% compared to 2019. Pedestrians still represent a relatively high share (25%) of road deaths. The safety of elderly citizens is of growing concern.
