25 mar 2024 · The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has said that the new design of the Onitsha axis of the second Niger bridge has saved the nation up to N300 billion. Umahi disclosed this in Asaba, Delta State when he led the management of the ministry on inspection tour of the bypass to the bridge down to Onitsha.
The Second Niger bridge is a Nigerian Federal Government project that is 1.6 km (0.99 mi) long and furnished with other ancillary infrastructure including a 10.3 km (6.4 mi) highway, Owerri interchange and a toll station all at Obosi city near Onitsha, inaugurated in March 2022.
14 gru 2023 · The Second Niger Bridge in Nigeria has been handed over to the Federal Government (FG) following the completion of its construction. The infrastructure was handed over by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) which provided funding and acted as the project manager.
