The Form MED1 Health Expenses - Claim for Relief in Ireland is filed by individual taxpayers who have incurred qualifying health expenses during the tax year and wish to claim a tax relief on those expenses. The form is submitted to the Revenue Commissioners, the tax authority in Ireland.
You may claim a refund of tax in respect of medical expenses paid or incurred by you: On your own behalf On behalf of a dependent (see definition below) On behalf of a relative (see definition below) A personal representative of a deceased person can claim for medical expenses incurred by the deceased.
