17 mar 2021 · My understanding is that the base audio has 4 door mid-range speakers and 2 under-seat woofers connected directly to the head unit. Although the wire for a center speaker is there (as part of a common/standard wiring harness), there may not be a port in the head unit to connect it to.

On a 3-way speaker, usually the mid and tweeter are driven by one amp, and the woofer is driven by more powerful amp. This allows you to purchase a high quality low power amp for the highs, and a more powerful amp for the lows.
In our 3-way system, both the mid and tweeter are run though the HPF from the woofer/mid crossover. This diagram has been simplified, and only the positive (+) lead is shown, but you get the idea. The reason for going woofer to tweeter is so that the HPF is before the LPF for each bandpass speaker.

I'm making this point to answer these questions for others as well as point out my success with some relatively simple upgrades.
