I am a 21 year old female who just had her hormonal (Kyleena) IUD removed after having it in for 4 years on June 3rd, 8 days ago, and I feel absolutely horrible physically and mentally. First, I had the dreaded progesterone crash period, which started 2 days after removal and just ended last night.
But that was it. Since getting it removed several days ago, I've had cramping almost every day, spotting, severe night sweats, insomnia, and so many things smell like vomit to me now (I know, gross). Not sure what other side effects I will experience yet, as it's early and some others may be subtle. Sorry we are both having poor experiences ...
I had my first mirena IUD for 6 years, got a replacement in March and have had HORRIBLE side effects since I got the new one with fresh hormones. If anyone is having any issues with theirs I highly recommend getting rid of it.
