  2. The head light has a white LED and a red LED . A red only LED has its spectrum well in the safe area as it has a narrow spectrum unlike filtered tungsten. Some LEDs are multicolour which sounds like your trouble.

  4. I use an LED bulb for safelight, but make sure you test for fogging anyway. While a red LED is most likely safe, a lot of “red” led bulbs are in fact white leds with red filters.

  5. This is difficult to answer because there are many different types of red bulbs. Do a test. Set up your light, if it seems bright, bounce it off of a ceiling or wall. Take out a small piece of photo paper and set it on the counter (protect the rest of the pack of paper from the light). Place a coin on the paper.
