It’s not recommended getting anything higher than 3600mhz cl16 for ddr4 because of diminishing returns. 3200 cl16 or 3600 cl18 is what you should be looking for. Ryzen prefers higher ram speeds because of its infinity fabric, while intel can be less sensitive.
It's the bare minimum now; fine for games, but 32gb is just better enough to be worth it. If you want to use google something in game and play at the same time, 32gb will make that much easier. It's not too much more expensive to go 32gb ddr4, and definitely worth the money if you have it.
Just make sure the RAM you pick is part of your MOBO's QVL list to avoid issues, and you're good to go. A lot of info out there says 16GB is enough for gaming, which is true, but to I'd prefer 32GB to future proof the build - and because prices of RAM are so low right now.
