To play this game you will need: at least 2 six-sided dice (2d6); a 6", 8", and 12" measuring device (ruler or strings); casualty markers (paper clips or rings); some miniature figures (the number will depend on the size of the battle). This medieval game is fought (played) between two or more armies. Each army is composed of two or more units.
These are simple rules for Medieval combat using miniatures. Ral Partha was a miniatures manufacturer (now owned by Iron Wind), and they gave these rules away for free in an attempt to sell more miniatures. The rules are 4 pages long with an additional 1 page player aid sheet.

The fantasy version of Ral Partha 's medieval rules system, Rules According to Ral. Infantry units are composed of 12 figures, while cavalry units are made of 6 figures. Individuals (champions, priests, and wizards) and creatures (dragons, giants, and monsters) are also allowed.
