Rage provides a damage boost of 35% and can be stacked with adrenaline for a boost of 235%, with the boosts used on adrenaline, it is possible to get a 280% damage boost. There are also item boosters for rage which increase the duration.
How about this: after defeating Polterghast, you gain the ability to merge your rage and adrenaline bars into unyielding rage. This version of rage has double the capacity of the original rage, will gain 5% rage for every hit you take and has the same damage bonus of adrenaline.
