Make a new folder where you want your games to be on your hardrive (example: steamgames) 2. Go to steam settings > Downloads > Steam library folders. 3. Add the game folder, in this case steamgames. 4. Install a small game on your new steam folder.
24 mar 2024 · I just got new SSD Sata but steam does not recognise the drive, and when I add manualy through setting > storage > add drive and click add it says Steam library folder is not writable, I tried to clear cache download, restart steam etc still won't work, does anyone know how to fix it?

10 gru 2023 · To resolve the issue, I located the old path file C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\libraryfolders.vdf. I then re-created the Steam folder that was being used before the drive was formatted (D:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam). After restarting Steam, the folder now correctly displays in my Steam Library. Thanks to KRoman47 for the solution.
It can be stored in 3 places. Usually it's your system drive>users>your user name>appdata and the subfolders like roaming, localLow, local. Others are stored in your documents folder and documents>my games folder. And some games store save data either in their install folder or steam>userdata>game's appID. 1.
