I bow to your experience here with your old Sony tv, but I stand by my assertion that a universal remote or any other remote in general is incapable of controlling a PS3, and OP will almost certainly require a remote made for the PS3 or an actual controller.
it's the best remote you'll ever buy. Its Bluetooth, yet you'll still point it at the tv before pushing a button. It does give you some control over the tv so you don’t have to keep going back and forth for things like volume and the inputs of you need to change them.

31 maj 2011 · Here is how to do it if you have a PS3 and a Sony Bravia TV. Using Sony Bravia remote with ps3 Works with new Bravia TV firmware. Go to Sony support website and update your Bravia TV firmware to the latest version. Then once the tv restarts it will then need connecting to the hdmi on the ps3.
