The operation, conducted by the Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency (JIOA), was largely actioned by special agents of the U.S. Army 's Counterintelligence Corps (CIC). Many selected scientists were involved in the Nazi rocket program, aviation, or chemical/biological warfare.
3 kwi 2018 · CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all MK-ULTRA files destroyed. Pursuant to this order, most CIA documents regarding the project were destroyed, making a full investigation of MK-ULTRA impossible.
The full story has remained elusive until now. Operation Paperclip, by Annie Jacobsen, provides perhaps the most comprehen-sive, up-to-date narrative available to the general public. Her book is a detailed and highly readable account of the program.
