16 lis 2003 · I use k36 mixed as a sealer at work, it works good. The mix ratio is 4;2;2;1, 4 parts k36, 2 parts DMD or DCC tint, 2 parts reducer and 1 part DCX8 hardener. A qt of k36 for the sealer will do.
23 gru 2004 · PPG K36 is a sand-able primer/sealer. It's is designed to spray over existing finishes, bare metal, etc to provide a consistent chemically stable surface for the topcoats to adhere to. Pro refinishers need this to go on fast, bond perfectly to *anything* clean and sand easily.
9 lut 2007 · I used K36 for years and painted over it without any problems ever but I do believe there are some adhesion benifits and durability benifits using an epoxy sealer under your paint. The job will be less prone to rock chips.
24 maj 2008 · For price, Transtar K-2 grey is hard to beat. Head and antlers above K-36. They offer a "QWIK-SAND" line that needs no sealer and no base prime. Prime your panel block it out and straight to paint with no sealer needed. It does sand harder than 3055 but color and gloss hold out are worth the effort.
I know of one "the go to guy" on a website that is sold on POR15. He recently posted that he once used a hi end primer - K36. I tried to explain it is not as good and costs more than SPI Epoxy. It all fell on deaf ears and feeble excuses such as I always use one product line from start to finish.
16 paź 2007 · The K36 is advertised on the PPG website as being a product that can also be used as a sealer. Thus, if there is a problem with whatever product is now on the surface, the K36 is more likely than the K38 to lock it down and seal it off.
27 mar 2020 · The last cars I did year ago I sprayed K36 over feather fill, on the 75 I am planning on using the new slick sand for the sprayable polyester filler. K36 is not available in Maryland anymore, has anybody used the Eastwood version of K36 and if so how did you like it?
