River Park Natural Area contains over six acres of native savanna, prairie, and riparian habitat at the convergence of the Chicago River and the North Shore Channel. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of this urban natural area from mulch trails running along the shoreline or from the paved North Shore Channel trail.

Located at the convergence of the Chicago River and canal, River Park is 28.8 acres and offers rich wildlife habitat, excellent fishing, and a canoe launch. River Park boasts a swimming pool and an interactive water playground in the summer months.
At just under 30 acres, River Park is the largest of the six parks within the River Park District. In addition to the robust wildlife, the park has a lot to offer to Albany Park’s residents. With a cohesive set of biking and walking trails, recreational spaces, and a boathouse, River Park functions as an important community asset.
The largest of the six parks established by the District, the 30-acre River Park is located just north of West Argyle Street, encompassing the convergence of the North Branch and the North Shore Channel of the Chicago River.
