I am sharing my experience below to warn others and determine if others are experiencing the same ‘scam’. Complaint: In the days following the creation of my business profile on Yelp, I received multiple phone calls regarding the platform and advertising. Key parts of one of these calls included the sales agent:
Yelp’s policies strictly prohibit compensated and incentivized reviews as they can mislead consumers. To help inform people’s spending decisions, we issue Consumer Alerts that appear over a business’s reviews to warn people when we discover suspicious review activity.
21 wrz 2023 · The FTC noted that Yelp reported 950 suspicious posts, users, or groups facilitating fake reviews in 2021 alone. Of course, the fake review problem goes beyond Yelp.
