Abstract. We revisited a Pinus ponderosa planting 32 years after it was established with one-year-old seedlings grown in copper-treated containers that modified their root systems. This tech-nique was intended to promote more root egress after outplanting from the entire length of the root plug with a goal of providing greater stem stability.
1 gru 2019 · The root systems were discretized by a low magnetic field digitizer and along with AMAPmod software we examined their root traits (i.e. order category, topology, growth direction length, and volume) in four quadrants: downslope, upslope, windward, and leeward.

Pinus ponderosa, commonly known as the ponderosa pine, [3] bull pine, blackjack pine, [4] western yellow-pine, [5] or filipinus pine, [6] is a very large pine tree species of variable habitat native to mountainous regions of western North America. It is the most widely distributed pine species in North America.
28 lut 2022 · Four different three-dimensional views of a digitized root system from a 32-year-old Pinus ponderosa tree reconstructed using AMAPmod software.
1 lis 2019 · The plant fine roots system (i.e., diameter smaller than 2 mm) plays a fundamental role in water and nutrient uptake [1], while bigger root fractions, such as large and coarse roots, ensure...
Bark Color - Brown-black on young trees, turning yellow-ish-brown to cinnamon-red, with large, flat, scaly plates with age. Root System - Shallow to deep-rooted, fibrous type root system, but with a strong taproot. Environmental Requirements Soils Soil Texture - Grows best on deep, well-drained loam soils, but will tolerate sandy soils.
