You can place the markings ( , ★, , , ♥ and ) on the places on the map that you want to remember. The markings will stay permanent - it will not change when you change apps or close the game. It will show the locations of wandering, legendary Pokémon such as Mesprit or Cresselia if you had met them in the wild.
