Written by Heisuke Yamashita and Tatsurou Inamoto, it is based on the Pluto: Urasawa × Tezuka manga series by Naoki Urasawa and Takashi Nagasaki, in turn based on the story arc "The Greatest Robot on Earth" from Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy. The series was released in full on Netflix on October 26, 2023.
Absolutely incredible story with some of the most intense character development of any anime series...one of the deaths hit me so hard I was almost physically upset by it. It really is worth the watch, even if it feels slow in certain places.
It's disappinting, because Pluto has so much going for it. Great animation, great music (though it won't blow your socks off), great detail, production value, and voice acting on both the sub and dub. But it's all held back by the story. And unfortunately, that story is Pluto's main draw.

I never knew pluto existed until an hour ago. Watched the first episode and I'm absolutely blown away and hella excited to watch more holy fuck. North no 2. story teared me up when he came back from bohemia.
