Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Snowflake’ (Oak Leaf Hydrangea) is an award-winning deciduous shrub with distinct, boldly lobed leaves and superb double-flowered blooms. It provides year-round interest with large, arching, conical flower heads filled with layered double blossoms.
Blooms in June for 6-8 weeks, gradually fading to pink and then brown by late summer. Distinctive, deeply-lobed, somewhat coarse, deep green, oak-like leaves (to 8" long) acquire attractive shades of maroon and purple in autumn. Mature stems exfoliate to reveal a rich brown inner bark which is attractive in winter.
