The New York, Westchester and Boston Railway Company (NYW&B, also known to its riders as "the Westchester" and colloquially as the "Boston-Westchester"), was an electric commuter railroad in the Bronx and Westchester County, New York from 1912 to 1937.

NYW&B train at East 3rd Street. Overview. The New York, Westchester, & Boston Railway was a short-lived interurban system that operated from 1912 to 1937, between terminals at 133rd St. at the Harlem River in the Bronx, and Port Chester and White Plains in Westchester County.
Historical Overview. Suburban Growth and the Railroads. The New York & Harlem was the first railroad to cross into Westchester County, reaching White Plains in 1844. In 1848, the New York & New Haven opened their line along Long Island Sound.
