The pirate bay now mostly uses magnet:// links instead if torrent files, and those have to be allowed by chrome to be opened in an external application. I am on my phone right now, but you should find a setting under the extended options in chrome, where you can reset the default program to handle these types of links.

25 mar 2020 · Chrome has set itself as the only program capable of opening magnet links. You can see this by opening Windows 10 Settings > Apps > Default Apps > "Choose default apps by protocol". There is an entry for magnet links, that only has Chrome as an option.
Hello everyone, I just need some help on why every time I try to download a torrent a vpn ad always opens and other times it opens an "untitled" tab with nothing downloading. Magnet links, always. If tpb is down try 1337 or rarbg. Right click on the torrent and open it in a new tab. Works for me.
