Otherwise the 9mm and 40 are identical, and share the same part numbers, including recoil springs, extractors, ejectors, sears, everything.

18 kwi 2014 · All M&P pistols in 40S&W will allow the swap to the 9mm barrel. I doubt it was engineered by S&W to be a drop in barrel swap, but more likely just done to make manufacturing easier and less expensive.

11 wrz 2016 · I just got a 40 to 9mm 5" barrel conversion for my M&P's. I have 3 5" barreled M&P 40 models so it made sense to get this. I ordered the black nitrided version to maintain a more stock look, and it arrived about 3 weeks after I ordered it directly from the kkm website.
